Newcastle

Entrance to One Mile Beach
We woke up early to sneak out of the caravan park before anyone noticed us. We drove to Newcastle and spent the day walking around the town and Nobby’s beach. We climbed 180 steps up the Queenswarf Tower to get a good look at the city from above. Then we drove to Port Stephens and stumbled upon Tomaree National Park. We walked through a forest like entrance with a white sand trail to One Mile beach. It was beautiful. Then we drove to Fingel Bay to walk across the spit, but unfortunately the tide was too high and the spit was underwater. So we drove to Myall Lakes to find a campsite to spend the night. Our friends Colin and Evelyn recommended we stay here. We stayed at the ‘Banksia’ campsite, which was right beside a path leading to Mungo Brush Beach. We’re going to check it out in the morning.
