Free Ride
We love Adelaide. If we could live anywhere in Australia it would be here. The city isn’t too big, there aren’t any high rise buildings, there is lots of green space and biking trails everywhere. Everyone seems so active and this morning everyone was out walking, running or biking around. Even kids are outdoors on scooters and bikes which was great to see. We figured we’d complete our Adelaide Triathlon today by biking to the Adelaide Hills – an area outside of the CBD, on a hill. The city rents out bikes free of charge so we got there first thing in the morning to pick out some good ones. We followed the scenic bike trail along the river and crossed it a few times. Adelaide is extremely lucky to have such a great bike trail through the entire city and surrounding areas. It was a 40km return ride, and near the end we stopped for picnic, a rest, and took a nap along the riverside. It was harder to bike around the city with all of the events going on so we returned the bikes and went on one last walk through the CBD before saying goodbye to Adelaide. Tonight we drove further down south along the Fleurieu Peninsula to Deep Creek Conservation Park where we set up camp and threw around the Frisbee. We could hear the Kookaburras laughing at us in the trees.
